Dear alumni and friends,

The future of Goizueta Business School shines brighter each day! 2006 was a remarkable year of accomplishments. We are developing and educating leaders while simultaneously growing the intellectual capital of our faculty.

Our vibrant community is both challenging and supportive, a key differentiator of the Goizueta Business School. We challenge students to push themselves academically and to grow personally as leaders. We also support them throughout their journey. That support comes in many forms and from all directions.

In this issue of Goizueta Magazine, the cover story profiles faculty who blend cutting-edge research, real world experience and innovative teaching methods to educate and inspire students. We actively strive for a strong balance of seasoned faculty with a wealth of research and teaching experience, and younger scholars who are energetic and eager to make their mark in academia.

The cover story also showcases the professional achievements of Goizueta alumni working in finance, marketing, and consulting in New York, Atlanta, and Japan.

A story on Goizueta’s Mentor Program, a profile on the school’s close relationship with Goldman Sachs, and a story on Professor Allison Burdette’s standing-room-only appearance at an alumni event further illustrate the reach and support of the extended Goizueta community.

Earlier this year, we created a senior staff position to focus on the very important issues of diversity and community. Alicia Sierra, formerly with MBA Admissions and now director of diversity and community initiatives, discusses the role of diversity in business education on page 10.

I’d like to end with a thank-you to alumni and employees of SunTrust Bank for dedicating the SunTrust Classroom. Also, thank you to members of the Goizueta Partners Society for their unwavering support and generous contributions. See the complete list donors here.

As always, I welcome your suggestions for continued improvement.
All the best to you in 2007!

Larry Benveniste
Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Finance
