Story by Myra A. Thomas • Photography by Jon Rou
Momentum. Preparation. Action. Results.
Today, much of the teaching at Goizueta Business School is focused on the study of current economic trends, ethical and global lessons, and the operational challenges presented in the boardroom. Through their research, Goizueta’s professors are front and center in the debate and resolution of the issues confronting business leaders. The result is Goizueta graduates who are set on the path to success in any avenue they choose, be it corporate America, international business, entrepreneurship or nonprofits. The school is on the leading edge of theory and practice through innovative research and coursework in the areas of accounting, decision and information analysis, communication, finance, marketing, and organization and management. This expansive cover story profiles some of the school’s top academicians, successful alumni working in key business fields, and essential coursework in the areas of finance, marketing, and organization and management.
In this issue, you’ll meet Narasimhan Jegadeesh, the Dean’s distinguished chair in finance; Douglas Bowman, a Caldwell Research Fellow and an associate professor of marketing; and Russell Coff, an associate professor of organization and management. These professors are integrating cutting-edge research, real world experience, and innovative teaching methods to educate and inspire their students.
The special cover story also details the professional achievements of alumni in the hot fields of finance, marketing, and consulting. From finance on Wall Street to consulting in Japan, alumni equipped with a Goizueta degree are garnering choice posts at top corporations, as well as achieving success with their entrepreneurial efforts.
Lastly, the story showcases a cross-section of the extensive coursework available in finance, marketing, and organization & management—fields of study essential to professionals climbing the corporate ladder.
