Kudos Organization and management associate professors Christopher Gresov and Robert Drazin received an award from the Academy of Management during meetings in San Diego for the best paper of the year published in the Academy of Management Review. The paper was titled "Equifinality: Functional Equivalence in Organizational Design." A $1.5 million gift from The Coca-Cola Company to Emory and The Carter Center will finance 70 percent of the tuition costs for nine Latin American students in the business school's MBA program. Edgar W. Leonard, director of the business school's Executive MBA program, has been elected to the board of trustees of the Executive MBA Council of the American Assembly of the Collegiate Schools of Business. Accounting professor Consuelo L. Kertz '75L received a best paper award at the Southeastern Academy of Legal Studies in Business meeting in Charleston, South Carolina, for her work on the liability issues surrounding the Volunteer Protection Act. Assistant professor Sunil Wahal was awarded best paper in corporate finance by the Southern Finance Association for a paper titled "Rights Offerings by Closed End Funds." Accounting lecturer Robert E. Minnear received a Meritorious Service Award from the Georgia Society of CPAs. |
