Gifts and Grants News Scholarship honors Lynn W. Platt '98EvMBA The first scholarship designated for the business school's Evening MBA program has been established by the surviving brother-in-law of Lynn Wachinski Platt '98EvMBA, who with her husband, James, died in a car accident one month before her graduation last spring. The James and Lynn Platt Memorial Scholarship will provide $5,000 annually toward tuition to one first-year student over the next twenty years, beginning with the Class of 2002. The scholarship funds are being administered by Lynn Platt's brother-in-law, Michael Platt. Classmates of Platt also have made financial-aid donations to the Evening MBA program and dedicated their memory video to her during their graduation party. Platt had completed her course work in December 1997 and was awarded her MBA posthumously in May. Consulting firm establishes MBA scholarship The Atlanta-based consulting firm Kurt Salmon Associates has established a $150,000 scholarship for MBA students. Named the Robert M. Frazier/ Kurt Salmon Associates Scholarship, the first award is scheduled for the fall of 1999. Kurt Salmon Associates specializes in retail, consumer products, and health-care consulting. G.F. |
