Alumni spin technology web

Based on a shared interest in technology fields, Class of '98 MBAs Jennifer Meyers and Grazia Sorice have founded the Goizueta Business School Technology Alumni Club as an industry-specific networking and educational forum.

The pair launched their effort at a lively panel discussion of how to value volatile Internet stocks, in collaboration with George C. Craft Professor of Decision and Information Analysis Benn Konsynski's fall seminar on electronic commerce.

Featured at the meeting was Internet entrepreneur Alan Taetle, one of the creators of Atlanta-based service provider Mindspring.com. Taetle was joined on the panel by investors and venture capitalists sharing their investment experiences in Internet businesses from Yahoo and Mindspring to Amazon.com, among others. More than two dozen alumni attended, along with students, professors, and members of the Atlanta business media.

Sorice plans to have the alumni club hold similar events once a quarter, and communicate from a website. "We'll be bringing in guest speakers on hot topics in technology, and we're looking for alumni volunteers," she says. F.G.

For more information or inclusion on the club's e-mail list, contact Grazia Sorice at gsorice@clg-it.com, Jennifer Meyers at jmeyers@ixl.com.
