The Goizueta ’06MBA Team of Anthony Diebold, Jeffrey Goslin, Swati Roy, and Shashank Sawant won first place at the Tulane Finance Case Competition. The teams from Vanderbilt and the University of North Carolina took second and third place, respectively. Other schools competing included Texas, Tulane, Rice, and South Carolina.

At the 12th annual Georgia NAIOP Real Estate Case Competition, the Goizueta Team of Marc Bassi ’06MBA, Raed El-Younsi ’05MBA, Zach Halpern ’05MBA, Dan Lee ’05MBA, Bob Weston ’06MBA, and Chris Woodrum ’05MBA, along with advisor, Adjunct Professor Roy Black, took home first-place honors. This year’s case study question asked teams, “What is the highest and best use of a 12.6-acre, in-town property that is currently improved with an old industrial park.” Other teams competing were the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, and Kennesaw State.

In addition to praise for their outstanding presentation skills, the Goizueta MBA Team of Jason Bull ’06MBA, Michael Adams ’06MBA, Jeffrey Goslin ’06MBA, and Shashank Sawant ’06MBA took home second-place honors at the Wachovia Finance Case Competition held at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Other competing teams included UNC, Virginia, and Wharton.

Congratulations to Joshua Howell ’06 BBA and Robert Murray ’05 MBA on their $2,500 first place finish at the SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) “Duel in the South” regional, financial case competition held at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va.

The Goizueta MBA team of Amit Rawal ’05MBA, Ivona Grimberg ’06MBA, Bill McKeown ’05MBA, Kaido Kaarlli ’05MBA, and Elkhan Aghamirzayev ’05MBA won the Wild Card East Venture Capital Investment Competition held at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn., and earned a spot in the Central Region Finals in Austin, Texas. Although the team placed third at the finals, they were unanimously selected as the winners of the Entrepreneurs Choice Award.

The Deloitte Foundation named PhD student David A. Reppenhagen as one of ten Deloitte Doctoral Fellowship recipients for 2005. He will receive $5,000 during his final year of course work and $20,000 during the subsequent year of completing a dissertation.
